Model Jen Selk mugged on 24th birthday (or not)

MODELLING | Embarrassment abounds.

2018: Ah, the glamorous life of a “model”.

The photo shoot was awful. The photographer wanted me to actually “scream” as though I were being mugged in broad daylight on a crowded Vancouver street. The other “model/actor” shown was, I think, another Sun staffer, but I can’t even remember. It was horribly embarrassing and made me incredibly self-conscious, which made it hard to get a good shot.

The resulting image was published on my 24th birthday.

I can tell you that I paid $4 for that jean jacket at Old Navy (on clearance, 2002), and I loved it so much that I kept it for a decade. The white purse I’m carrying I ended up trading when I went to Rome in 2006. I gave someone my white purse, she gave me her brown one. Odd.

This image, which I’ve amusingly titled “Model Jen Selk mugged on 24th birthday (or not)” was originally published in the Vancouver Sun, July 17, 2004. Note the cutline, “This scene is a dramatization involving actors”. LOL.

More super awful modelling can be seen here.

Terrible newspaper photo featuring Model Jen Selk mugged (or pretending to be mugged)

Possibly the worst model in the world. Vancouver Sun, July 17, 2004.
