Helgatha
STORYTELLING | Once upon a time, more than a decade ago now, I had a fight with my husband. And I ran off to a hotel in downtown Toronto to deal with my feelings, because I was right and correct and he was wrong and stupid.
Mind you, I could not afford said hotel. Nor could I afford the spa day I booked for myself on a whim as I made my way down there, but what can I say? I was and am a very well-adjusted person who has always made nothing but good, not-rash decisions.
And so begins my absolutely ridiculous tale of woe, entitled Helgatha, which it just so happens I told live-and-in-person last night at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre in Fredericton, to a robust crowd of paying listeners, which is just wild!
I was very out-of-practice, but the story is long (some 30 minutes long, actually). In my opinion, it’s a great podcast-style listen for the car, if you have time. I wish I could make it available on Spotify or something. Perhaps I will think about how to do that in the future if I do more of these.
Always something new to think about.
We raised money for Habitat for Humanity, NB too. Can you even believe that? People PAID money to come hear stories told live, by muppets like me. Absolutely baffling, but it happened and I suspect it will happen again. Pretty proud, tbh.
ANYWAY! Have fun listening.
